Hello all. I bought this clock today at a local store. It appears to a complete Colby model that runs and keeps good time. As soon as I placed it on a level surface, the clock started working! From what I have read, it should date around 1920. I think someone has modified the gong striker to soften the sound.

What is the best way to clean the case?

I use the waterless hand cleaner, Goop, for heavy dirt or Murphy’s oil if the case just needs a light touch.

I use Kotten Kleaner. It takes off the dirt only.

Thanks for the replies. The case is actually very clean. I used some Murphy’s Oil Soap with a light touch, and that worked just fine.

After more research, I believe the clock is a “Cody.”
