Ingraham mantel clock hour hand removal

I’m having a challenging time getting the hour hand off this clock face. Is there a tiny nut that needs to be removed? I don’t want to do damage. Thanks.

Pull and twist, it is just a friction fit. A drop of penetrating oil and an overnight wait and try again may help.

Follow up. Should I use needle nose pliers to pull and twist? I’ve never done this.

You could, but I rarely find it necessary. The "twist" should break it loose and it should just come off if you pull and twist at the same time. Pliers have a way of slipping and causing collateral damage to the face etc.
