Information on an unusual Elgin pocket watch

Yours is a 16 size 7 jewel grade 480 movement made in 1924. One Elgin source has this listed as an automobile clock, which seems to be supported by the fact your stem is found at the 6 position. This is common on automobile clocks so that they could be mounted on the dsah board, and wound and set by the stem protruding beneath the dash board.

Sounds like you've got a nice watch - now you need to find out what cars used your type of watch!
