I have an info request. I just saw a very large (5 foot or so) jeweler's regulator at a house call with no makers marks. After doing some quick research on ebay, I believe the movement to be an Ansonia. I don't have any pics, but I will try to describe it and see if it matches anything you can find.
It's about 4.5 to 5 ft in length and has an ogee curved cornice that is flat horizontally with flame mahogany veneer (I think). There is a bonnet/crest not attached and not seen. There is a small curved base only about a foot wide and hardly seen when viewed.
The front door is about 15 to 17 inches wide and has an upper and lower panel of flat glass divided by a brass mullion. Side panels are the same.
The movement seems to match up to the one shown in Ebay as does the dial and pendulum.
The interior of the case is covered in black velvet and the regulator scale (F/S) is mounted just behind the front door.
The dial is marked "M.C. Rich's Chronometers" and he may have been a jeweler or watch/clockmaker in the Providence, RI area.
Any help appreciated, Chris.
