what do the members think are the appropriate hands for Amer. black dials?
do any members have antiqueblack dials?
I think Jon Hanson has a few, perhaps he can comment?
Actually, Bryan, I was attempting to STIMULATE the folks here!
I guess no one here has any black dials
Guess it would depend on the watch that sported the black dial...
4992B... white hands
other black dials.... anyone's guess...
one would think they would contrast the dial.
Several years ago, I observed a Keystone Howard with a black dial. I believe that it had gold embossed numbers and gold hands.
At that time, the watch was located at the Fredonia, NY Historical and museum.
I have plenty of them-old Howards, Rockfords, Elgins various RARE Walthams.
How about a couple of photos for each variant of each mfg'r?
Sounds like a good topic for the WIKI!!
