I just got this one today.
1893 Illinois model 2 grade 61 with a 2 tone checker board finish. The pocketwatch database shows a little more than 10000 of this grade produced. I wonder how many of these were made in the 2 tone movement.
This needs a good cleaning but will more of the 2 tone finish wear off?

Peg the top plate jewels and light cleaning. You don't want to lose any more.

I cannot seem to find much info on this grade. I know the private label I posted is also a grade 61. The complete price guide to watches does not list a grade 61. I have yet to order the Illinois CD, which I will soon.
Does anyone have a grade 61 to post?
    Thanks
    Jay

Noticed that “Adjusted” is hand engraved and quite large. Odd but attractively done. -Cort
