I'm no expert when it comes to clocks so i have photos of an Atmos 528-8 clock i picked up at a church auction for 25$, i took it home and inspected the maker and came across a whole section of clocks and i have no idea if i have a good copy or a real 528-8.

Everything looks like it's real but i figured i'll ask the experts.

Welcome to the forum! Looks like a real Atmos clock to me. The serial number dates the clock to first quarter 1973. That's a great price...hopefully it will give you years of service.

I would be very surprised if it was a fake. The effort and skills necessary to fake an Atmos would be far more profitably used elsewhere. There are a fair number of them about - they were a common high end retirement gift in the 50's to 80's.

If it runs, the suspension is good and the bellows are working, it's a good buy.

Never move it without locking the pendulum.

Sit down before you start investigating the cost of servicing and repairs should it need work. Thank you! I'm going to clean it up and have it on my desk.

Its in perfect working order, i watched a 23 min video on youtube and timed it when it was Leveled, 30 second rotation each direction on the dot!

You've made the deal of the week at that price! Very glad to hear that it's running correctly. You will find it very hypnotic to watch...
