• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Steven is correct that the movement was made by the New Haven Clock Co. Using Snowden Taylor's revised classification scheme, it is a type 1.411. These movements are typically found in ogee clocks with a Jerome & Co. label.

Hey, Mike. I looked for Snowden's ref, but came up empty. Can you post the reference for your statement so I can (finally!) remember it?

Steven,
Snowden has posted many updates to his December 1982 NAWCC Bulletin article but has never published a comprehensive version. I'm working off an unpublished working copy that he graciously gave me. I suspect that the type 1.411 is identified in one of his Bulletin updates, but I can't swear to it. Using the 1982 article, the movement in question was classified as a type 1.4 (the earlier of the two 1.4 variants).

Thanks, Mike. Looks like I have 30+ years reading to catch up on.
