Clock is not running. I read forum info re: FOREIGN. I think the manufacturer was J. Schmidt? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

Your clock is German and the top word on the dial is plain Schmid, not J. Schmidt.

This logo was used by the firm of W. & A. Schmid-Schlenker, who were in business from 1935 until they closed in 1996. they also registered the name 'Polka' as one of their trade names.

As to why your clock is not working, I suppose the first question to ask is, have you wound it up?

Has the clock been running and just stopped now, or has it been lying somewhere unused for some time?

Can you post some more pictures, without the plastic or glass dome which is very dusty and obscures the picture.
