I found this pocket watch movement buried under the foundation of my GG-grandpa's homestead, completely cacked in mud. I have looked at hundreds of photos to try and figure out the manufacturer so as to get a date of origin but did not see anything like this. It is 45mm diameter. It is metallic in color and the back has decorative stripes in the finish. The SN is 73974915. You can also see etched in the back, dial lines with "F" & "S" on either side for the regulator adjustment. It should be earlier than 1880.
Does anyone recognize this watch?

I would guess that it might be what we call a dollar watch
with that half-moon shape window for regulation.

Maybe Ingersoll
