i guess perhaps i should stop responding to your posts. to be honest i cannot tell by your photos that you do not have the correct chain. since you do not mention this in your original post, i can't figure out how anyone reading could know this. you're welcome.

I think perhaps TEACLOCKS was a bit frustrated when he started and replied to the thread. I've had moments like that :)

Liege is a city in Belgium, so in answer to your question, no, it isn't. However the low countries have a lot of interconnections.

The book is not available in English.
The clock was made in Liege (Belgium) as Nick has said.
Brian's suggestion that you google 'staartklok parts' was correct - you would have found the suppliers leeinv66 listed.

If you contact the middle one (Friesian clockparts) you will be in contact with Luitzen Tasma, who is 7th generation maker of Dutch clocks. He is a friendly and helpful man who will surely be able to advise you as to the correct chain for your clock and can probably supply it too.

    I hope this helps.

I see a figure eight shaped chain illustrated in the book, and a figure eight chain in the movement photos. Can someone explain to me why it is not the correct chain for the clock?

i'm willing to give him the "grumpy old guy" pass....however, this certainly isn't the first time we've seen and/or experienced this sort of thing from TEA. i am grateful and even honored to give advice, but even more so when the receiver appreciates it. occasionally, i suppose it simply isn't what the listener wanted to hear. some have even noticed that he asks for advice but never bothers to follow up with even the slightest appreciation in the aftermath.

perhaps we all simply have our quirks and personalites here and they should be celebrated for what they are.

I try to use the forum like I am talking to family.
Some people in the family think they need to be approached like they are the head of the family.
    I guess
I know I will be the one punished for this, but people are not always doing what you thing they are doing.

If you can't find your way around their website, just send a message to info@clockparts.eu and tell them what you need. They will help you from there.

I've never seen a chain like that one, and I can't see the sprockets either. Very strange one.

When you look at the chain it looks 3 sided weird.
I will be doing something with this chain of this clock.
    then I will be back.
    THANK YOU ALL

I don't get that chain at all, it hardly seems to have room for teeth on the sprockets.

Guys, this is getting out of hand. Lets back off, and not make this personal, OK? I've removed a couple of posts that are personal and derogatory. I also edited out parts of others.

    I'm sorry I didn't understand your reply.
"Liege" I did not even see that on the dial, "sorry"
The customer has had this clock for many years and he said it was Dutch, "That is why I said" "Is this even A Dutch clock?" not knowing myself.
The Chain is definitely wrong be cause it skips in the sprocket.
like I said when I get back to this clock i will be doing something with the chain.
Then I will get back to this thread
thank you all & each one of you
