I couple of weeks ago I almost missed out on this.... I ran into it at an estate sale five minutes after a friend of mine... needless to say I was pretty angry with myself.... through some creative barganing we did some trading and I brought the clock home friday.... an interesting skeleton clock with a Fusee movement...

Tim.. I really need a better camera

Thanks Kevin, I have yet to find a maker on clock, and Im still in the process of figuring out the age, somewhere in the mid 1800's would be my initial guess. However, a friend of mine thinks it could be earlier. Maybe someone on here will come along and help ahead some light on it..

    Tim....

Nice clock! You were lucky to get a second chance to acquire it.

There are a few skeletons around my home, but this isn't the correct forum to discuss them (they're not new acquisitions).

edit: I would gladly contribute to your camera fund.

Indeed I was... usually I'm the first to know when they are coming up as the guy who runs the estate sale will send me pics of the clocks prior to the sale itself... To his credit, he did.. with one caveat, he failed to include a pic of the skeleton clock or the fact that one was being sold at all.. I wasn't interested in the clock he showed me so instead of going to the sale early my wife and I ran errands first,( her tail light lol), then went to the sales.. I ran in to the estate sale guy at his alternate location and he promptly asked if I had looked at the clocks specifically the skeleton clock... Imagine my surprise when he dropped that bomb on me lol... I quickly left and went to the sale with the clocks only to find a friend of mine hovering both clocks, ( a turn of century 2 weight Becker( of which I originally blew off because from the pics sent to me I could not see that it was weight driven) and the fusee skeleton clock)... it was pretty tense and I missed out.... however he has a penchant for figural clocks, so I traded him a Marti clock I had for the skeleton... he is also giving me another clock of which we have not decided on as of yet....

Tim..... awaiting funds for camera lol lol lol

Taking pictures with a cellphone (a Samsung) in less than marginal conditions is hard. When I photo parts of a clock I'm working on, I break out multiple light sources and use a tripod. It's very easy to get less than ideal photos otherwise. Outdoor scenery, no problem. Details of clocks...not so much.
