• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

I don't know a whole lot about Howard watches and less about Howard (Keystone) watches. But, I found the watch interesting, so here it is. Pocketwatchdatabase says its a Model 21, Series 12, 10s, 17 jewel watch made around 1922. Here are some of the auction pictures.

What a wonderful package of watch, presentation box and numbered certificates/licenses! The engraving and etching on the dial and case are really nice. Keep an eye out for a reprint of their catalogs from the '20s that show the variety of dials and cases available. This is mine -

Thank you! The dial on your watch is very attractive. Also, from your example, I can now see where those two little black blocks go! (Mine only has one and it's loose). Thanks. Do you know what the case is made of? It is non-magnetic but doesn't feel or look like bakelite to me.

Correction: Presentation box, not case.

I'm pretty sure these are wood, but I don't know if it is a dark wood, like ebony, or if it just has a dark lacquer or paint finish.

Once you say that, it makes sense. Just looking at it, though, my first thought was it might be phenolic. The finish is just so smooth. Thanks!
