I just pulled a little Howard 00 down and found a somewhat disturbing thing. The front plate has a bow on the cross piece that supports the winding drum bushing . It's about 1/8" convex out. If this were a cast iron frame, I would leave it alone but a brass frame might have a chance of bending back flat without cracking the frame.

What is the consensus? Should I try to bend the warped frame back straight or leave it alone?
