Hello. I have about 20 clocks I would love to restore. I have no clock experience and feel sheepish asking this question. I would like to refinish the wooden case of a telechron clock. It only has two screws (I took these off) and a time setting knob. I cannot get it off to separate the clock from the case. I have also tried to remove the knobs from a Baby Ben that was too far gone so that I could put them on a really nice one. I am not talking about the knobs that screw on :rolleyes:I’ll include a few pictures.

Tis is a new hobby that may has been Soooooo much fun. I just bought 3 Hammond clocks that did not work. What I found out was that they are a chronmaster and 2 Synchronous clocks. After a small amount, and I mean very small amount of research I ran my finger on the knob to move the second hand and all three started and kept perfect time. Fun!

Thank you, Susie

I have been using my fingers and then used a pair of silicone dipped pliers. The shaft goes into the clock amount 3/4”. Do you think it is screwed on? I was able to open the baby Ben but have those same knobs on another clock that I cannot remove.

I tried again to remove it to no avail. I may try to heat it with my hair dryer. Thank you for responding to my question!
