So I finally finished up a Heuer Chronograph. It was in fairly rough shape when I got it but it clean very well after a little restoration. Unfortunately, the balance staff needs replaced. The pivot is too far gone. I’m a newbie and am just learning some of the basic repairs needed on PWs. And I definitely don’t know how to track down info on these old chronos and source parts. Can anyone help me out? 4505781B-9684-4CA4-A3F8-1B224B1FF778.jpeg 2EAF2366-16FE-4C08-A3E8-2C842AF09029.jpeg 013A38F8-901D-434C-94F5-CC4334200684.jpeg

It’s a stopwatch not a chronograph. A chronograph also tells the time.

This is a chronograph:

Thank you SO much. I looked for hours without success.
Very nice stopwatch btw! You certainly have it very lovely and clean. Looks great. I've been tempted to get a quality stopwatch by Heuer or Omega but at the moment I just have have a couple made by Sekonda. I'd be surprised if your staff got damaged pivots from use. Stopwatches just don't run for extended periods like watches do but they do get dropped and there is no shock protection on your watch.

Hi Streetsnake,

Yes, it certainly is broken off. Now, do you have the tools to remove the balance spring and the roller from the staff, and then take the broken staff out of the balance?

Regards,

Graham

I do. I have a staking set. However, I have yet to successfully fix something that is wrong in the balance cock, wheel, etc.
