Can anyone here help me identify this chronograph. It has a Bimetallic split balance wheel with breguet overcoil. Which I removed for the photographs.

The case is of silver and I would think with the bear it could have been made in the Canton of Bern in Switzerland but I am not sure at all. I cannot find anything in my books or the internet. Is there anyone here with some knowledge who can help me please?

The larger bear punches on the case are Swiss symbols for silver greater than .875, which the case is at .935. JFL

Thanks for that info. :):) I already figured that out, Do you have any idea of the maker of the movement. I do know that Swiss movements, especially the early ones are very difficult, if not impossible to identify. So I am not holding my breath.

Thanks.

If you look closely at the image of the bear just above the bears rear legs you will see a letter this will tell you where the watch was made.Go on line and find Swiss Essay markings for your ansewer.

It's Swiss in the ENglish style but does not look to be Nicole Neilson. Nicolet was a Swiss maker of chronographs for the English market so look for examples by them.

Another possibility is Carley.
