I can't help with the suspension spring size, but generally unless it is broken or severely twisted, the spring doesn't really stop a clock from running. That all comes down to cleaning the movement and main spring along with setting the beat and making sure that the escapement is correct. The picture of the full back plate suggests that the saddle bracket has been moved based on the lines that I see on the sides of the bracket. If the bracket was moved, then it might not be at factory settings.

This is a pin pallet escapement and I can see that the two pins on the anchor are not parallel to each other again suggesting that some non-standard adjustments have been made. Note that those pins are very brittle and can be broken with too much bending.

Thnx a lot Kurt.

But what do you mean exactly with : saddle bracket ?
do yu mean this in pic attached?
if not would you please highlight for it.

Also, teh spring is not cut but it has only one twist in it.

Thnx again.

Yes, that is the saddle. One twist in the spring really doesn't present a serious issue.

Thanks Kurt
I have done one for a customer, so I am adding it for WealFarahat because it’s probably more helpful.

Thnx Dells…
Unfortunately I failed again to adjust the beat.
The pin always went to my right hand and never be in the middle to adjust the beat.
Also in both videos I notice that you mention a screw in the top that need to adjust a little, but for my clock I did not have such one.

I will upload more videos that my help to identify the issue.
Thnx in advance.

As whatgoesaround has said some have a screw but the earlier ones like yours it has a friction fit ( sorry forgot to mention that ) you need to use a pair of pliers ( protect with card) turn it in the direction of least over swing.
I have modified an old pair of pliers but if you are careful you can do it with normal pliers.

Dears,
KurtinSA whatgoesaround Dells

I have good news.
I managed to adjust the ‘friction fit’ manually by my hands, and the TIC been is OAK.

the clock is kept working for +12 hours now with little time difference.

I will re adjust again and keep you posted.
I do appreciate your support and contribution.

Gents,

do you recommend one lubricant brand or specifications to use for such kind of clocks?

I like the Horolover beat tool. I find it allows one to make the tiniest fine adjustments. I find myself using it a lot.

Yes, I've read they will twist if you over tighten it. The one I have doesn't seem to twist no matter how hard I tighten it. It came into my life 25 yrs. ago so maybe they don't make 'em like they used to. At any rate the way I use it is I loosen the top screw on the suspension saddle (it's really a tension screw) so it's fairly easy to turn the saddle. Once I have it in beat I tighten the screw before removing the Horolover tool.

Kundo clocks, and the one initially described, don't have that screw on top...Schatz clocks do. Kundos are friction fit. So, it is best to check the friction level while the clock is disassembled and see if some movement back and forth releases the friction a bit.

Good point. And Kundo's saddles are top mounted making for easier access. Schatz 54 1000 day saddle screws have such a big head on them that the Horolover beat tool won't fit between the screw and the suspension bracket. It's one of my pet peeves because the 1000 day's are so touchy to get the overswing perfectly even. Using the Horolover tool would make that a lot easier.

The clock is not stopped anymore after adjusting the beat as described above.

The decrease is around three minutes daily.
