Help adjusting old Seiko mesh band?

Hi, I wonder if anyone has experience with this type of mesh band on an old Seiko tank watch? I need to remove a few links.

The pins go all the way through and appear to be the same on both sides. It's just not evident how to remove them.

Browsing around ebay it looks to be a pretty common old type of Seiko strap in both narrow and wide versions (this one is 20mm). I'm hoping someone with experience with this type of band can help out before I start experimenting.

Have you tried pulling both ends at once with end nippers under each head?

Thanks for the reply. I haven't actually tried anything yet for fear of doing more harm than good.

By end nippers you mean something like this, only really small?

What I mean by end cutters/nippers:



You'll need two pairs.
Get this. Do not squeeze too hard or they will do what they are named for and cut the ends off your link pin.
Gently put the cutters under the heads of each pin and pull.
Grasp and pull.
