Hi there,
my name is Anne and this Angelus Clock is a heritage.
I couldn't find any information about the company or the age.
Found similar (but not identical) Angelus clocks which where dated 50ies/60ies.

Number of the bottom is 1003.
Its more than 2,2 pounds.
Measures: 9,5x13,5 cm

The sticker on the bottom says "Horlogerie Bourquenez Basel". Googeling it wasn't succesful.

I am not sure what do do with it yet. Wanted to sell it maybe if not keeping, but still looking for more information. Now I am quite curious.

What do you say?

Greetings
Anne

Angelus, Swiss made perhaps 1950,s era. Fold out type with barometer. If you google vintage Angelus clock with barometer there are others around. If you post in the values forum, we could give you some idea as to value f you wish, nice little 4 sided clock and family heirloom.

Thank You, Kevin!
I am new to this forum an though I posted here I am (still) not allowed to post in the value forum(??)

But this is very exiting anyway.

A person, who sold antiques once, told me it's not much worth and the local "purchase and sale" - shop (don't know whats the correct term) wasn't interested.
Gladly i was skectical, because today I stumbled upon some offers of similiar clocks in the internet o_O

I look at past solds at auction sites, i find it better than looking at past solds on Ebay. Nice clock, and i know a few people that have them.

found these... might be earlier...

Rare Swiss Art Deco Rose Gilded Brass Angelus Meteo Desk Clock/Weather Station at 1stdibs

Angelus Revolving Swiss Clock Weather Station

The knowledge on this message board is pretty phenomenal but I think most folks are probably more into the older clocks… We’ll see if anyone else comes along

Hey Bruce, thanks for your reply. Yes, I found those as well. the auction sites need registration to see prices - so i wanted to start here. On of those angelus links brought me here. I think I read in another thread here that the company had to close in the 70ies or something(?)

Angelus was the trade mark of Stolz Freres in Le Locle, Switzerland. The company closed in the late 1970s.

Now that I managed to make it work (with a little hint of Uhralt) - I am not sure If I want to sell it :(
I am really fascinated by it now. The mechanics. Its so different: the heavyness and everything...compared to a modern cheap plastic alarm clock.
I think thats the nerdy part in me who really wants to open it and see how the mechanics/ gears look inside.
Is this how it starts?;)

I caution you to read up a bit , if you wish to open the case of the clock. It would be a shame to have something bad happen to it.

of course. I don't even have a tool that is small enough to open the screws - i tried carefully, before it worked.
