I have had to do some repairs to a Hauck pendulum ( I think) the torsion spring hook had one side of the lug snapped off, that had to have a bit of thought because although the threaded blank was easy enough to turn up I had to think about how to cut the rest out, not perfect but it will do the job , and when people look at a clock apart from us I suppose they see the whole clock and not one little part like this.

Looks good! I've made a few of those now. I don't think the uninitiated would notice the difference.

Thanks Eric
That’s pretty much the same way I did it as well , wish I had seen that post before I gave myself headache working out how I was going to do it, it’s very satisfying completing something like that for the first time isn’t it.
Are the gallery pillars the wrong way up ?, if they are I can’t see the point in having that shape on one end.

The hook was one of the first parts I made once I got a lathe. I had 5 clocks with damaged hooks. I try to get the look as close as possible to the original parts.

If the gallery pillars have a pointed end I put that end down. I get the impression from examining the examples I own that the one end was finished (flat or curved) and the pointed end was the cutoff end. Several of mine are definitely unfinished on the pointed ends.

This is mine, poor photo but it's the best I have at present.
This clock has been through the menders several times, so it might not be factory fresh.
