• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Happy Memorial Day

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day.

I hope everyone would stop for a moment and think about all the soldiers/sailors/airmen that gave their lives for this country and those on active duties now around the world.

Has anyone acquired any interesting military related horological items?

Hi Andy,
I echo your sentiments for our fallen heros.
A friend recently brought me a clock he came accross. It is a round, bakelite case Chelsea with screw down door. It needs a mainspring and it was you who told me it is a 12 jewel---12E
movement (thanks).
Iam still looking for a mainspring source. I emailed the Chelsea site a couple of times but did not receive a reply.
FYI ---the dial reads U.S. ARMY message center, M2.

And a respectful Memorial Day to you all.

Here's a sad statistic for you to contemplate. CNN's "Headline News" announced yesterday that only 28% of all Americans knew the real meaning of Memorial Day. While I'm sickened by that statistic, I am happy to see that at least a few of us here on the NAWCC Message Board remember what it's all about.

Military timepieces: Bulova Model 1917 wrist watch (circa 1940) and Hamilton "watch, wrist, general purpose" (circa 1983).

Let's never forget that freedom isn't free.

Respectfully,

My brother is currently residing in one of Saddam's palaces. Our family has served in the service since the revolutionaty war and continues today.
Freedom isn't free and I am so thankful for the dedication of the many who have served.
