hands works sometimes and than stop

Hello my friends,

i have a litle problem in my pocket watch. The watch is working, but the hands only works sometimes, than stop and than working again, but the watch continue working. I have already checked the wheels and all of them have complete teeth
Will be a problem of hands or watch movement?

That watch needs a good cleaning!

In most movements the hands problem is most likely due to slipping canon pinion. I guess there is no resistance when you set time.

Now does your watch have a traditional canon pinion? I am not sure. (Roskopf?) Anyway there is on place where the hands are friction connected to the movement. My guess is that that's where the problem is and you need to increase the friction somehow......

EDIT: It was a long time since I worked on one of those but if I remember correctly the hands are driven from the mainspring barrel in which case it possibly is the wheel(s) that you show on top of the mainspring barrel that is slipping.

Hello Skutt, yes the whell move the hands is this on top of barrel. The canion pinion is the same of roskpf, you can see in this photo, ( in the photo the minute wheel and hours is missing )

This top whell is fixed at barrel and not move, or moves freely ?

The way I remember these movements the slippage should be between the wheel on top of the barrel and the barrel. If I am correct the wheel should be loose right now and needs to be tightened.
