I am working on a Manning Bowman clock that has the Hammond Synchronous sealed rotor movement in it. When I removed the rotor, I did not see a paper cushion (or paper washer). I was expecting to have one as I was following the Craig Shields book "Hammond Synchronous Clocks Maintenance and Repair." Which leads me to ask this question.....

Do all clocks with the Hammond Synchronous sealed rotor movement have a paper cushion under the rotor?

If so, does anyone have a picture of what they should look like? And, how thick should it be?
