    I have owned several of these and have only seen one with a locking inner box
    are these unusual? It's definetly factory....

    Unusual, but not rare. I have one. The first 300 M21 boxes were close modifications of the Nardin boxes (lid stay) and I would suspect the early M22 boxes cae from the same vendor/contract specs. After that they went to snap catches and did away witht he key lock. No idea how many mounted M22 boxes were key lock.
