    Jim, I suppose it depends on ones definition of "mass produced." The Timing and Repeating Watch Co. made a lot of complicated watches and Meylan made large numbers of chronographs but maybe not 23,000. I am sure they made several thousand.

    I do not have any numbers on the jitterbug timers made by Elgin and Waltham, but they may have made more than 23,000 of those. Since those do not really tell civil time, perhaps they are not "complicated watches."
