Hey Guys,

I have a old Hamilton electric watch with a 500 movement. Serial # on the movement is 561581. My question is this: The second hand does not have a red arrow like most of these watches do. Does this mean anything ? It also has engravings on the inside of the back cover. I'd appreciate any info you can give me, including where to have it serviced. Thanks !

1. The engravings are probably past service markings.
2. Rene Rondeau is widely considered the expert on restoring and servicing Hamilton Electric wristwatches, although I'd assume it's going to cost a little more for the best.

As for the red, not every single watch matches perfectly with "model" description. The paint could have worn off. The hand may have been replaced at some time. It may have never had the red on it.
