• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Can someone please help me? Where can I purchase a 992 balance assembly?? . I have tried all the places on line and no one seems to have NOS.. also..how would you go about replacing an old mechanical movement with a modern quartz equivalent? do they make these for bintage wristwatches and 16 size and 18 size pocket watches?? thanks Lloyd

Why do you need a 992 balance complete? If the staff is broken, you can replace just the staff.

Why would you want to replace an old mechanical movement with a quartz movement? And why would you ask the people on a site that's dedicated to collecting and preserving old watches how to go about creating such an abomination?

Not angry, just curious.

I'd be very surprised if you would ever find a NOS replacement, you will most likely have to settle for a good used balance complete, and you will no longer have a numbers-matching watch.

I have a Bartlett with the entire balance missing, i will just use it for parts. Sometimes not many options to choose from.

lloyd, I don't think Harvey was crude or rude, he was asking a question as to why you wanted to put a quartz watch into a vintage case when there are hundreds if not thousands of movements on ebay that can be installed with a couple of screws and retain some of the integrity of the watch. What is the problem with the balance, is there no balance cock? is the staff broken? is the wheel broken or too damged to repair? is the hairspring damaged or missing? is the pallet fork missing or damaged? An answer to any or all of these questions may get you needed parts. How about some pictures so we can see what the watch looks like.
