I picked this Hamilton 975 today at an estate sale, they didn't ask too much for it becaues it is missing the crystal and second hand. But the watch movement seems pretty clean and it does run and has kept time well for the last few hours. It is in a keystone 25 year case.
So I am thinking that these were more of a general carry watch. It is nice looking though. Just need to get a second hand and crystal.

    Thanks for any comments.

Is the second hand (4th) arbor there? Hard to tell, but I don't think I see it in your dial photo.

I guess I should have left the 2 jacksons in there. I seem to be getting a good collection of watches to repair.

So how did that arbor come out and is that a hard repair. Also where can I get a new crystal.
    Thanks

Looking at the watch, my guess is that it was dropped on its face. That arbor is attached to the 4th wheel and will break rather easily if a watch is dropped on its face and contact is made with the second hand. You will have to disassemble the watch to replace the 4th wheel assembly.

Thanks Dave, I guess one good thing is, it's been running for about 5 hours and is still keeping good time.

Your watch was finished 9-9-1907 and sold 9/10/1907 and it's a
975 GT(gold trim). These have gold colored screws(and inlay on the engraving).
Hamilton made a very fine product.

Thanks Rob, the watch is still running good, it has picked up 2 minutes in about 22 hours, this one is a Lever set. I am going to see about getting a new Crystal.
