I don’t know where the spring strings go but they are detached. Some people say it chimes trinity or westminister. It plays ave Maria de Lourdes I believe. No other chimes.

This is a Junghans box regulator, circa 1930-1940. The crossed arrows mark is a leftover from HAC, a clock company taken over by Junghans. After 1930, Junghans was still selling clocks under the HAC brand for regional markets. It will play Ave Maria de Lourdes, which strikes a pattern on the quarter hours and plays the actual melody on the hour. Unfortunately published reference regarding these particular clocks is very scarce since the German-domestic catalogs did not cover export models. The name on the dial corresponds to a retailer.

You are probably the only person in Wisconsin to own such a clock. They sometimes turn up in other countries such as Brazil, France, or Vietnam but are not as commonly found compared to clocks with the Westminster chime.

No, very few clocks come into the 'very rare' category'. It is as Chimeclockfan has said.

Clock value is entirely subjective and is largely set on demand and what a buyer is willing to pay, but these clocks normally garner 300-500 dollars in good condition. Sometimes a little more if it's an uncommon model, often less if the clock needs repairs.

Maybe 300 with a dial in good condition. For 125 you did well.

Most likely the strings you mention are the chime/strike silencing strings, which simply arrest the hammers from hitting the rods. Usually there's a metal ring attached to them, which then the ring hooks onto a nail/stud on the side of the case to keep the hammers raised.

It’s not long enough to latch on to any hooks.
