• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Hi all,
I just purchased this Gustav Becker. The clock has a hinged front door and is 30 inches high, 13 inches wide, 6 1/2 inches deep. Face is 8 inches diameter. There are two small glass portholes on the sides that the movement can be seen through. It is spring driven. From what I can see it was manufactured between 1925 - 1933 in Freiburg Germany. I've searched the movement and can't find a serial number, so I used the logo to date it. I've included links to some pictures to see if anyone might be able to tell me if this is right or can tell me the exact year it was made. Also I've been referring to this clock as a "Box Regulator" is this correct?
Thanks for any help.
Mike

Your clock is indeed a Box Regulator, and was likely made between the dates you stated. Not all GB clocks have a serial number, and for what it's worth, you clock is pretty close to the same as mine, only yours has a nicer case. See my clock on my website for reference.

I hope you will clean the movement. It looks like it needs cleaning quite badly.

Right on all counts for description. My data show this back plate marking (letters H and K with GB Anchor logo) was used as early as 1919 so it might be a bit older than 1925-33. There were several letter markings used during the period from 1910 to 1940 but so far I don't have enough data to make a good correlation for how they were used or in what years.
