Hi, can anyone tell me anything about my grandfather's Pocket watch? Where was it made, when? Is it worth keep secure?

Says Continental on the watch face, has day and a day/night face. Gold colour. I haven't opened it but it needs a battery.

It certainly isn't as old as your grandfather and probably not as old as yourself.

I don't know when he bought it, or if he bought it new/second hand.
Just assumed it would be old because it's a pocket watch.

If you look on Amazon or Ebay you should see quartz pocket watches, that will give you some idea as to a value. And no, its not old. Its a heirloom that you may wish to keep.

Most local markets have a stall which fits watch batteries and straps
That is the easiest way or you can get a battery from Ebay or Amazon, cheaper but more hassel

According to Mikrolisk the tradmark on the dial of your watch was registered in 1993 by Evaco SA of Mohlin, Switzerland who are associated with the Rivoli Group, a Dubai-based corporation.

Their watch website is Continental Watches | Swiss made since 1924

You might even be able to find your particular watch on that site. An important question is whether or not the case is solid gold; if so, then there should be some Swiss assay marks on the inside of the case covers.
