Gledhill Brook time recorder question

Hello - According to the 55K serial number tag, it seems this should be a circa 1939 model. Researching the clock/company further, I'm confused with dial, which is marked Simplex. I found where the original Gledhill Brook company sold to Simplex in 1964. So, do you think it is just a matter of the dial being replaced at some point?

If it was 1939 I would have thought it would have two mainsprings in barrels and two winding holes - so it's more likely to be much later, with the correct movement and dial, but something wrong with the serial number. Can we see the latter?

Thank you for the reply. It's actually in storage, but here is the full pic I have on hand. I'll get more pics next time I'm at the warehouse.

I see the serial number now - that's really odd as the entire clock is from the 1960s! I wonder if someone swapped the serial number for some reason?

Looking at this again as a sceptic, it seems as though everything is as it should be and someone with a pre-war Gledhill Brook has swapped the serial numbers hoping that it would fetch more money for both!
