Owens made the best gongs as they have the thick metal base that makes deep resonating.

In case you dont know, to set the alarm, turn alarm dial so that desired alarm time is directly under hour hand. Then wind alarm. There is no off switch so alarm ends when unwound.

I have been unable to find a reference to this clock, so I can't identify it, though perhaps someone else knows what it is. I suggest it may have been made in the first decade of the 20th century. If you have issues with keeping it running, it may be out of beat. Try reading this article in the encyclopedia to see if it helps you. Beat Setting 101. Otherwise, you can start a thread in the Clock Repair forum and solicit help from the members.

The basic clock is called the Wave. It appears in Tran Duy Ly's book on Gilbert clocks as shown in the 1906 catalogue, though it might have been offered a few years earlier or later. Is the light fixture (I assume that's what it is) part of the clock or something separate? That is not shown in the 1906 catalogue illustration in Tran's book.
