I purchased this beautiful Gilbert brass and crystal regulator clock. I have the case apart for polishing and waiting for a new suspension spring.

The sample image is as close to what I have except the top and bases have bowed along each side curves shown below and filigree around the top and base plates. The name stamped on the back is Gilbert clock Co. Winsted Conn. There is the number 16061 and I would like to know two things, the date and the name. Other clocks similar to this were named "Valerie", but this one is more ornate.

The little lever and scale, below the hand shaft, looks like something to do with the rate. But, it's there to adjust the beat, within a pretty large range. Gilbert made a three plate version of this movement; it's a bear to repair and not a good runner, IMOE. Willie X

Hello Dacin99,

Based on the piece that you have in photo 1, Tran Duy Ly's Gilbert Clocks has a model called the "Villeray" that seems to match. 12 inches tall, "The upper and lower borders are heavy filigree decorations in rich ormolu gold plate finish." and Ly has a catalogue date of 1906. I could not find an image on Google images of the "Villeray" to show you what it looks like.
