I just picked up this clock at the Mid-South Regional yesterday. I was told by the seller that it is called a "Key Hole" German Vienna clock. There is no makers name on it anywhere. It does have two sets of numbers on the back plate, 42/105 (pendulum length?) on the left and 12370 (serial number?) on the right. That's it no other markings. The majority of my collection is American so I know little about the German clocks and have no references on them. So I need some help on a possible date and maker for this one.

    Joseph,

I estimate your unsigned Vienna style key hole wall clock was made from 1895 to 1915, based on style.

We have folks who can identify unmarked German movements and perhaps they will be able to identify your clock.

    Regards.

Stepping outside my element here, but should the pendulum be somewhat longer? Seems like it would be more "appealing" if the bob was right in the center of the opening.

    Thanks...Kurt

Tatyana is great in identifying movements. Hopefully she will chime in.

It was set up as I got it. Still trying to regulate the timing. Running very fast right now.

In case you cannot get the bob low enough, you could use a slightly longer suspension spring. There are about 4-5mm that the leader could hang lower on the crutch without causing problems.

Perhaps the movement is an unmarked Mautrhe? It seems to have feartures similar to those on the movement in this post: Post your MAUTHE clocks here. However, don't take this to the bank.

Steven, it may be a un-marked Mauthe. It is very similar in style and construction as found in the Mauthe postings and other Mauthes I've found on line. But as you say not something to take to the bank. I will keep looking. Thanks for the reply.

    Hi all!
The Mauthe movements changed several times during the period 1900-1920s:

Joseph, I think your movement is done after WWI.
