I am trying to find the date of this watch. It has a serial number of 424540. Does anyone have any information on this watch. It was my Dad's and it means a lot to me.

Your watch was registered in 1880

The company was founded by Georges Favre-Bulle in 1865 after his apprenticeship in La Sagne. The first registered name was Georges Faver-Jacot,

The first small workshop was in Les Billodes a section of Le Locle (Switzerland)

It registered the trademark Billodes in 1884.

In 1896 the firm changed its name to Georges Faver-Jacot et Cie.

The firm registered the trade mark Zenith in 1897 and the Zenith company is still in Le Locle now.

I hope this answers some of your questions.

New to here. I also have this brand pocket watch w/ serial number of 40061. I can get it going but will not keep going more than a minute. Don't have the key to wind and the crystal is missing. Curious when it was made if anyone can steer me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
Thanks Dale

I just bought a set of pocketwatch keys on 'evilbay', haven't got em in yet, but they are very reasonable, and the set covers all sizes of winding arbor. I'll let you know if they work out for my keywind watches.

I've also seen lots of auctions in the last few months for crystals, both plastic and glass. Also very inexpensive.
