I was wondering if somebody could comment on, or critic his books.

I have a friend that has, "Everything you wanted to know about American Watches and didn't know who to ask". Next time I see him, I am going to borrow it.

I have seen this one and another one, "The watch that made the Dollar Famous", on EBay.

How many did he write? What are the titles? Are they worth finding / buying?

Thanks for any information you can pass along.

    Steve

Yes, by all means grab copies; sometimes autographed copies float around (I sold some for an estate several years ago on the McIntyre Message Board). However, they are historical and the pictures of the movements are actually line drawing as The Col. was an illustrator for the Air Force.

The third book was on early Howards in a larger format; however, some of the data is outdated.

Most of his stuff is correct but there are some errors. Buy the books, then I'll explain some of the errors to you.

    Hi Jon

I have a line on a couple of his books here in Colorado Springs.

I will email you when I get them.

I have seen a couple with the Orange/Yellow covers and also the spiral bound ones. I take it the spiral bound ones are the copier reprints that you can buy through "Heart of America Press.

Are there any other titles of his books that I should be looking for?

    Steve

The $ watch, almost everything, and the Howard Books are pure Townscend. I believe the others about which you are speaking are Ehrhardt. All Ehrhardt books are valuable for the pictures, but the prices and much of the info are outdated or have been updated. These run, used 5-15.00 depending on the condition and the seller.

It all depends what your interests are and how much you wish to spend.
