• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

I was unable to locate any information on George Gilbert in my reference books. I would say the movement looks like a 1860 - 1880 production movement. Any information available? Thank you.

The form of the cock and the use of a regulator disc let me think it´s a bit earlier,I´d put it around 1800+/-20 years.Any siver case?Hallmarks?

I'm with Herrn Rasch on this, except I'd go 1780-1800. Hallmarks would cinch it.

Thank you for the reply guys. I was not very clear in my first posting. This is a movement I bought yesterday at a gun show. The movement is held by a very strong nickel bezel and the thick crystal has a bevel cut outer ring. I can't even figure out how to remove the bezel. It almost looks like the bezel screws off. I don't want to force things. To me it appears that this movement was part of a small clock. I am attaching a picture of the dial and bezel.

The dial is painted.
