General 8 day mainspring length..

I have a newly acquired Ansonia with a destroyed time side mainspring.. Is the normal length 96in for a barreled hole end 8 day clock..?

Probably shorter. You will need to take it apart and measure the old spring. Thickness, width and length.

If you post some photos of what you have there, someone may know what mainspring you need. Willie X

Yep, Willie’s right. For a barreled hole end spring, the length varies. You will have to measure it.

Thickness is critical. Too thick or too thin will reduce the time the clock will run, as will the length of the spring.
