• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Someone asked for the dimensions for this tool a few days back. I couldn't find the old thread so I thought I would make a new thread with the same photo.

The tool is made from a 2" length of 3/16" mild steel. I used a big nail. The hole in the end is 1/16". The clearance slot is made with a .O30" cut-off wheel using any kind of high speed rotary tool. The depth is to within . 025" of the inner hole. It has to be this close on most modern clocks. Both the hole and clearance slot go in about 3/8".

Note, You might as well make a larger one too. Start with the same stock. The only difference is the center hole will be 3/32" and the you may not even need the clearance slot. If needed it won't need to be very deep. This one will fit older/larger movements but you might not use it to much because many older movement have loose GPs.

I can't over emphasize the importance of using very little pressure to seat these disc and always look for scars and dents when you're puting them on a round shaft. These scars need to line up. When lined up the disc will usually drop right into place. Gather on, Willie X
