it's now close between this one and the early german precision regulator my clock mentor just sold me: adolphe lange precision regulator w/ grossmann pendulum

i was just offered a david monroe regulator wiith a great pendulum and coup perdu escapement and said, "nah... i'm good"

not sure what they mean 'painting on the dial by coteau', but there are four enamel panels that could be by him.... either way, it sold for... wait for it.... 327,600 euros. yikes.

I’m not sure but I saw the name Coteau and thought you would be interested. The information references another one published in a book as well.

I’ve seen at least four of that style clock in my time collecting. The last two I saw, now being aware of Coteau, paid attention and noticed the dials signed.

BTW Bruce, I’m now convinced 2 of the three dials I posted earlier are from the Coteau firm. Looking closer at the astrological dial, it is signed..
