Hi, just acquire a French Brocot clock movement. It's had a ruff life and very dirty. As I was taking the pictures it started ticking.
I want to know how you calculate the old French inch I read somewhere It's 1.066 new inch .
The marking is 6 9 I figured it's about 6.75 inch apx .
The suspension spring is missing but I will make a new one .
I guess the date to be around 1860 or a little before. As it has the old type metal pins half moon in the Brocot.
The case rim has DV stamped before & after the serial number .
DV 28853 .. Is this a date or ?
pendulum 6 9 like to know what this is, exactly in New inches or mm.
I guess it being about 6.75 inch.
All info welcome.
