Found in the dump

Went to the -er-recycling center(it's still the dump) and one of the attendents saved this for me. It was dirty-wiped it down with glass cleaner and it had a plaque from 1973-simple to remove.
It was a good day.Oh,BTW, it does run and keep time. I guess this was my reward for struggling with a cuckoo clock for longer than necessary.

Wow, the things people throw away. Lucky it didn't get physically tossed. Nice freebee. I've never found anything more than quartz clocks at our dump.

Accompanying this was a quartz with a battery so corroded that the case was almost green on the outside!!!
But we'll take 'em all might have a part that I can use-VBG

I used to able to go down the tip for a rummage, but the council has stopped that now. They now have a shop in the town where you go and buy the rubbish. I did get a Garrard mantel clock once, for a fiver

We're not allowed to salvage at the dump here. There were
a number of law suites where someone salvaged some documents
that were sensitive. Since then, it it is tossed, it is tossed. That
clock would have been shredded for scrap metal here
Even items for recycle need to be specifically stated to be
recycled as a complete items and not scrapped.
