• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

I have a lever, wall mounted octagon,30 hr whose works and label are marked E.N. Welch,Forestville Conn.
Does anyone recall when Welch started to stamp their works thusly and when they switched over to the title E N Welch Manufacturing Co?
Thanks,
Bruce

Bruce,
According to Forestville Clockmakers by Ken Roberts and Snowden Taylor, "After about seven years of profitable management under his own name, on July 6, 1864, Elisha Welch formed the E. N. Welch Manufacturing Co."

Thank you very much, that helps narrow the date down somewhat along with the fact that it is 30 hr,rolled brass and lever movement.
Regards,
Bruce
