Does anyone recognize these fonts? They are on a tall-case clock that has no hints as to origin or age. I previously posted questions to the forum on this piece on October 10, 2019. A fellow NAWCC member suggested that the numeral fonts might provide a clue.

Do you have the clock and movement? It would be helpful posting them.

I suspect the clock is German.

It does not look like a dial that would have used on American produced tall clock particularly ones that have keywind time/strike/chime movements. Colonial Mfg Co. in Zeeland, MI purchased German movements, but they were typically pullup and used arched not round dials. If they used round dials the clocks contained simple time and strike movements.

As Andy suggests, the movement will be the best indicator of age.

To your question regarding the numerals, I do not believe there is a font name for the numerals.

The style of numerals was popular during the Art Nouveau period, which was the late 1800s into the early 1900s. The Art Nouveau period preceded the Art Deco period.

This style of numerals were popular in German clocks.

Regards.

I do not think these embellished numerals on clock dials were ever made into fonts. After spending many hours looking at page after page of fonts, I have never found even one. I suspect these were hand done by dial artists. I have found it to be far easier and faster to recreate the numerals for paper dials than to search for the font.
