I finally have my first triple-decker coming by Jerome & Co. It looks to be in decent condition and may inquire around to see if I can get the tablets touched up and looking right. Also new is a Waterbury "Bruce" model with case and movement issues. The clutch is slipping so bad that you can literally move the minute hand with a feather but thats a different thread. Any and all advice welcome for the Jerome and the idiosyncrasies' of these clocks. As far as the Waterbury, that will be in the repair forum next week or so after all my floors are repaired and things back to normal. Chris.

Now, as The Bard once wrote: "What's in a name? That which we call a rose/ By any other name would smell as sweet."

However, I would not refer to the Jerome you posted as a triple decker. Granted, that term is often misapplied to these clocks. It's actually a column and cornice. In reference the cyma consoles, they are sometimes referred to as "sleigh fronts". This picture shows the difference:

The column and cornice is on the viewer's left, a triple decker on the right.

For more about this case and other related case styles, see this very good Bulletin Supplement by Lee Davis:

Especially see page 30.
