• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Eugene Farcot Clock I believe can anyone help please and thanks

Yes, you have a Farcot clock. Farcot made many wall clocks in this style, this is a nice colorful one.

Hi do you know the age of this one please thanks
Not exactly, Farcot made clocks in this kind style for quite a long time. I would guess 1890-1910, but there are Farcot experts on here who may know a more accurate date.

I haven't seen on with a back cover like this before - can you show us a picture of the movement?

Wikipedia says he worked till his retirement in the late 1880s so tells me it’s older than that but thank you

Farcot worked until about 1890 and died in 1896; his son carried on after that. If you can show us the movement with the serial number (which will be on the back plate of the movement) it should be possible to date the clock more nearly.

Thanks for the photos. The serial numberwould indicate made around 1882.

It is hard to estimate a value - so much depends if someone really wants it. I like Farcot clocks and they are good quality, but haven't bought one for a long time. I think you might £100-120 on a good day,but others may have better ideas.
