Yes I liked that clock and I attempted to arouse interest in that clock with 2 of my clock friends. I had a feeling this clock would be a bargain. But it was not in the cards for them. So I'm glad to see you got it. And it is a nice looking clock that looks like it was restored expertly.
The clock is certainly in the fashion that corresponds with the dating of the signature. In a way the signature was added, it looks like a London clock. I have one of similar age I believe is a London clock in all but signature. Here is a link to mine for comparison:

Here is the excerpt from "Lantern Clocks and Their Makers" by Brian Loomes. The standard sized lantern clock mentioned could very well be your clock. When Brian Loomes was writing his lantern clock book, he solicited his followers for photos of lantern clocks.

It was a very busy week, I had back to back auctions where I had to put bids in each evening based on my success or otherwise on the day. I could not afford to bid on everything straight off in case I won, and even had to do a deal with another collector to hedge my bids when too many were on the same day. In the end I won two clocks I wanted, but this one was the bargain of the week and I didn't bid at all!

Yes as I bought my Rob Watts transitional lantern off him he included it in his book and the J Watts fusee lantern on the opposite page is also mine but it’s nota miniature as he quotes it’s normal size .Thanks for your observations on my latest clock Chris can’t wait for it to arrive.

Hi Philip,

Great, I look forward to these photos.

The Dent movement is completely overhauled, looks brilliant and runs perfect (and indeed loudless). The pendulum luckily was the correct one. The dial responded well to cleaning and I intend to conserve the patina instead of resilvering and redrawing. The bezel has also been polished, and now the case remains to be restored (or just cleaned and repaired?). I will make a box for the rear side to protect the movement from dust, perhaps of acrylic glass or even crystal glass. I still need to make up my mind :D.

Cheers, Bernhard
