Hey all. I have a Welch mechanism that will not stop chiming. When it hits the hour it just keeps going. Sometimes up to 30 times. I am stumped. Any suggestions.

the rod the red arrow is pointing to is bent too sharply... it's supposed to be more like 90 degrees, so that the end of it drops straight into the slots below... stopping the strike (not chime).

somewhere on the forum is a guid to setting this up... probably one of the stickies in 'clock repair'.

    Hi Douglas,

If you want (or need) to dig a little deeper, see this link: Count Wheel Basics

It looks more complicated than it is.

Good luck and let us know if you're still having problems with the Strike.

    Bruce
